Electric Vehicles(EVs) are key to cutting CO2 emissions and a growing fleet of EVs is crucial to achieving one of the key resolutions at the just concluded COP 27, namely, boosting "low-emissions energy".

Yesterday we attended and participated in; Net Zero Accra: E-mobility Advocacy Platform event, organized by Impact Hub Accra, and witnessed the sharing of vibrant ideas from a number of sustainably conscious and environmentally enthusiastic young people, as well as the exhibition of innovative Electric Vehicles (EVs), from indigenous and continental Startups who are leading the way in the emerging EVs manufacturing sector in Africa.

From the ideas presented and shared, to the products showcased at yesterday's #NetZero event, it is evident that Africa is witnessing a proliferation of young people who are in a conscious race to ensure that their countries and local communities are not left behind in the journey to achieving the #NetZero and #NetPositive agenda.

To fast-track the expedition of this, with the consequences of #climatecrisis already being experienced, we need to as a matter of obligation and responsibility, continue to advocate to our leaders and policymakers, for the inclusion of reusable and recyclable waste in the manufacturing value chain.
